In January 2003 my oldest son, Brandon, took me on a fantastic trip to New Mexico to do some snowmobiling. We flew into Albuquerque, and then drove to Taos where he spent the nights. First trip was in Red River, NM, a very scenic small ski town located in the high country. We took a 3-1/2 hour afternoon trip, only the 2 of us and the guide, it was quite spectacular. Second day we drove to Angel Fire, another small, scenic ski town high northeast of Taos. This was a 3 hour morning trip, one other person plus the guide, and it was a little cold, but the scenery was spectacular there also. The afternoon was spent watching skiers and sleders on the slopes at Angel Fire, it was a sunny cold day and there was competition going on. All I all, we had a great time, and hopefully we can return there. |
